Youth Hostel Madrid Standards
The governing body for youth hostels is the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF). Hostels that are registered with this organisation have agreed to abide by certain standards, such as fresh linen, cleanliness and security and so on. Hostels that are not part of the IYHF are independent, but usually also stick the same standards, and may have more flexible rules regarding curfews.
