How to Find A Youth Hostel In Madrid

A youth hostel is a place that usually attracts backpackers, or people on a budget. You can also read here about the association that lists all youth hostels in Madrid. Youth Hostel Madrid Standards

The governing body for youth hostels is the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF). Hostels that are registered with this organisation have agreed to abide by certain standards, such as fresh linen, cleanliness and security and so on. Hostels that are not part of the IYHF are independent, but usually also stick the same standards, and may have more flexible rules regarding curfews.

In Spain, the IYHF is represented by the Youth hostels Network – REAJ,
