Madrid Apartment Rental

On this page you will find the best places to start your search for a Madrid Apartment Rental you’ll be able to compare the benefits of apartment rental against other types of accommodation. You’ll also find useful information about which part of the city is best for which type of holiday.

Why A Madrid Apartment Rental Is A Good Choice

Madrid apartment rental is a great alternative to staying in a hotel, hostel or hostal as you have more freedom to come and go as you please without being bothered by hotel staff, and it can save you money as you’ll be able to eat in rather than dining out all the time. This especially helps if you are going to be staying in Madrid for quite a few days.

If you’re coming to Madrid with your family, an apartment means that you can all be together, instead of split between different rooms. It’s also much easier if you’ve got young children as they’ll have space to run around. In a self catering apartment, you can feel more like you’re at home. You also have a fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals at odd hours – an especially good point if you are bringing a baby.

Deciding Which Area To Look For A Madrid Apartment Rental

Depending on what you want from your stay in Madrid, this will help you decide which area of the city to start your search. There are obvious benefits to staying in the centre, as you won’t have to walk far to see hundreds of sights and attractions like museums, galleries, theatres and of course all those wonderful tapas bars!

Think about the main attractions that you want to see, and start your search for an apartment by looking for accommodation near the area you think you’ll be spending the most time. This will save you valuable time travelling around the city.

Is Madrid Apartment Rental Possible With A Swimming Pool?

You can find apartments with communal pools. The buildings in Madrid are not in the same style as holiday apartments you may have seen on the coast, in that they are more residential in style. However, many more modern blocks have access to a communal pool, so do ask the agent (if you are using one) if they have apartments with pools. A pool is a great bonus in the summer.

The Importance Of Renting An Apartment With Access To Public Transport

The easiest way to get from A to B in Madrid is either by bus or metro. If you make sure your apartment is within 10 minutes walk of a bus stop or metro station, you will increase the number of sights you can get out to see. It will also be cheaper than relying on taxis to bring you back to base!

Will The Madrid Apartment Rental Be In A Block Of Holiday Apartments?

As a rule of thumb, there aren’t many blocks of apartments in Madrid that are specifically built for holiday-makers. So it is unlikely that you will be kept awake until the early hours by partying tourists on the next floor! More often than not, your neighbours will be residents, but of course there are exceptions, so always check with the person who is offering the rental. It also means that there will probably be rules about keeping what you can and can't do in an apartment to ensure you respect the neighbours. - Normally parties are not allowed in a holiday apartment.

tipLook out for the difference between ‘Aparthotels’ and ‘Apartments’. An aparthotel is a self catering apartment that is part of an establishment that also offers the services of a hotel. For example you will be able to book morning calls, there will be a reception and probably a laundry service and so on. In an apartment you will be totally self-sufficient with no additional services offered. It will be cheaper than an aparthotel.

You can of course find Madrid apartment rental companies on-line, but I would advise to try and stick with the ones that have an address in Madrid. That way you know where to find them if you have any problems. My research has shown that many Madrid apartment rental companies have their offices in Barcelona.

Madrid Apartment Rental Offers You Privacy

Renting an apartment for your stay in Madrid means that you can benefit from more privacy. This is especially good for families who have small children.
