The Abba Atocha Hotel Madrid is in one of the most multi-cultural areas of Madrid, on a busy street. Once inside it is much more peaceful, and the reception area is modern and newly decorated. There are comfortable sofas and steps at the far end of the lobby lead up to the restaurant. The refurbishments must be new because it even smelt new!

The hotel has its own parking, which is essential in Madrid, and there's a restaurant and cocktail bar. The restaurant specialises in traditional Castilian cooking, and one such dish on their menu (order in advance) is roasted lamb made in a wood fired oven.
There's also a non-smoking floor, and in reception you'll find the 'Cyber Corner' with 2 computers.

The Abba Atocha Hotel Madrid has 6 meeting rooms. Some of them can be combined to give bigger spaces and they are all soundproofed. The largest can take 300 people. The hotel will provide projector, flip chart, VCR, megaphone system, and video-conference facility.
The rooms are well lit and modern with carpeting and cream walls.

This is a medium sized hotel with 108 rooms, including 7 junior suites with lounge area. Every room has AC, en-suite bathroom, hair dryer, telephone, satellite TV, mini bar, trouser press, writing desk and a safe. They are suitably sound proofed that you don't hear the noise from the road outside.
The rooms are tastefully decorated in blues and yellows, and the bathrooms are finished in mottled marble. The effect is very stylish.
Hotel Location And Facilities
Directly opposite the hotel are a couple of bar / restaurants, a pharmacy and a place to get your photos developed. The street is made up mostly of tall red brick apartment buildings that are, on the whole, residential.
If you walk 1 minute up the road there's a cosy looking Irish bar, with the message "It's a lovely day for Guinness" displayed outside. There's also a cabaret bar next to the Irish bar.
In terms of getting to the city centre to visit attractions such as the Royal Palace or the theatres, shops and bars in the areas of Gran Via and Puerta del Sol, you can take the nearest metro and be in the centre in 10 minutes (from the time you get to the metro station).
How To Get From The Airport To The Hotel
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport will be about 30 minutes and cost €22.00 to €25.00 (including airport supplement), depending on traffic volume, and assuming there is no excess baggage (that all baggage fits inside the boot and interior of the taxi).
Via 
Metro: You can take various metro routes directly from the airport to arrive at Delicias metro near the Abba Atocha Hotel Madrid. Line number 8 leaves from inside the airport between terminals 1 and 2. I've given the quickest route below with the stations where you need to change listed:
Metro: Columbia (Pink Line, L8) Then change and head for Nuñez de Balboa (Purple Line, L9) Then change and head for Callao (Green Line, L5), and then take the line to Delicias (Yellow Line, L3).
Via Bus: The red EMT public bus from the airport goes to Avenida America bus, train and coach station. The number bus that takes this route is the 115. From there it's quicker to change to the metro.
