Review Alexandra Hotel Madrid

The Alexandra Hotel Madrid is a modern and comfortable hotel that is 3 minutes walk from the central Gran Via road. The street it is in has good facilities, and on Gran Via you'll have access to some of the best theatres Madrid has to offer. For a 2 star hotel, the Alexandra Hotel Madrid is well equipped and caters for tourists and business people.

Hotel Facilities

The Alexandra Hotel Madrid offers a laundry service, and you'll also find nearby public parking within 2 minutes drive.

There's a spacious lounge downstairs from reception, that makes a great place to relax and read. There's also a café-bar, car rental is available through reception, and the reception has internet and a fax service.

Business Facilities

There are 2 meeting rooms available at the Alexandra Hotel Madrid, the Alex I and Alex II. Combined they can hold up to 90 people. The meeting rooms are really modern and airy.

Rooms

In total the Alexandra Hotel Madrid has 68 modern and comfortable rooms all with en-suite bathroom, satellite TV, phone, safe, CH and AC. The rooms are decorated in creams and rustic reds and I found them to have a minimalist and modern feel. A handful of the rooms have a small balcony with a view to the street.

The Alexandra Hotel Madrid has many facilities within 100 metres on the same street, including: post box, herbal shop, tobacconists, banks, café and tapas bar. If you are feeling a little oriental then there's also a Chinese restaurant about 50 metres away in the direction of Gran Via. Or for convenience, there's a take-away pizza place right downstairs.

This area of Madrid is quite businesslike and there are several large companies with their offices between Gran Via and the Plaza España. By contrast, Gran Via itself attracts a lot of tourists due to the hundreds of shops there. There are also several theatres, tapas bars and cafes along Gran Via.

How To Get From The Airport To The Hotel

Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 35 minutes and cost €22.00 to €25.00 (including airport supplement), if there isn't too much traffic, and assuming there is no additional baggage (that all baggage fits inside the boot and interior of the taxi).

Via metroMetro: You can take various metro routes directly from the airport to arrive at Santo Domingo metro near the Alexandra Hotel Madrid. Line number 8 leaves from inside the airport between terminals 1 and 2. The quickest route is given below with the stations where you need to change listed:

metroMetro: Nuevos Ministerios (Pink Line, L8) Then change and head for Cuatro Caminos (Grey Line, L6, Circular) Then change and head for Santo Domingo (Red Line, L5).

In A Nutshell

The Alexandra Hotel Madrid is of a very good standard for a 2 star hotel. Its facilities for business people make it appealing for anyone planning to hold a conference. Meanwhile tourists will enjoy its central location and close proximity to the shops and bars on Madrid's main road.
