There are several Best Western Hotels in Madrid. Best Western is a well-known chain that have both 3 star and 4 star hotels. We visited one of their 3 star hotels, the Best Western Hotel Atlántico. The Best Western Atlantico is a stunning building inspired by 17th and 18th century architectural design. It is easy to spot as it has a French dome on top, that is visible from almost anywhere on Gran Via, the main road where the hotel is located. The reception area has ornate tapestries hanging from the walls, giving it a stately air. There are a couple of regal looking chairs, a richly patterned rug and a stand full of leaflets about other Best Western Hotels, and attractions in Madrid.
Hotel FacilitiesThere’s a sauna and a gym. On the first floor there’s a bar within the lounge. The lounge has huge windows with a panoramic view over Gran Via and is a no-smoking area. The restaurant serves a breakfast buffet between 07:30 and 11:00. Public access internet on the first floor. There’s also an airport shuttle service and a public car park 50 metres from the hotel. Laundry service available. Reception will take care of booking tickets for shows, and arranging car rental for you. Business Facilities

Being located on Gran Via, you have walking access within 5 minutes of a wide range of tapas bars, restaurants, shops and the best theatres. The popular ‘Pans & Co’ sandwich and coffee bar is 2 minutes walk away.
Next door to the hotel is a Nike sports store, that has a huge range of sports clothing. You can find a cashpoint within 5 minutes walk in either direction too. If you want to buy a few groceries, then cross the road, walk past Plaza Callao and down the hill (a total of a 5 minute walk) and you’ll see the big department store El Corte Ingles.
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 35 minutes and cost 22 to 25 euros (including airport supplement), if there isn’t an excess of traffic, and assuming there is no extra baggage (that all baggage fits inside the boot and interior of the taxi).
Via
Metro: You can take various metro routes directly from the airport to arrive at Callao metro near the Best Western Atlantico Hotel Madrid. Line number 8 leaves from inside the airport between terminals 1 and 2. I’ve given the quickest route below with the stations where you need to change listed:
Metro: Nuevos Ministerios (Pink Line, L8) Then change and head for Alonso Martinez (Dark Blue Line, L10) Then change and head for Callao (Green Line, L5).
Via Bus: You can take a red EMT public bus from the airport to Avenida America. The number bus that takes this route is the 115. From there it’s quicker to change to the metro.
