When I entered the Hotel Melia Castilla I felt as though I was in a shopping centre! It is vast, and the reception area is flanked by shops, and there’s a coffee bar to the right too. The upper floor is open and green tropical plants hang down over the railings. It’s big and it’s shiny with a mirrored ceiling and hundreds of lights, and it is one of the few hotels that has an outdoor swimming pool. And it was full of business people and air hostesses. Hotel FacilitiesThis hotel felt like a complete commercial centre, food hall, business centre and hotel all rolled into one. I don’t think there’s any need to leave the premises as everything you could need is here!
The facilities include hotel parking for 200 cars, outdoor pool, shopping gallery, hairdressers, laundry, dry cleaning, 24 hour room service, they have their own travel agency and provide car rental. You won’t go hungry, there’s a breakfast buffet with over 100 different types of food; an A la Carte Restaurant called ‘La Fragata’, that offers grilled meat, fresh fish and seafood; A la Carte Restaurant ‘L'Albufera’, that has a massive variety of rice and paella dishes; and the ‘Cafeteria La Bodega’ for snacks or the menu of the day. Thirst won’t be a problem either, as you find 3 bars: the Pool Bar; Bar L'Express and the Piano Bar El Comendador. Business FacilitiesThis is an excellent hotel in terms of business facilities as there are 23 meeting rooms, and an absolutely immense convention and congress hall with seating for over 1000 people. The largest meeting room can hold 700 people. The hotel has state-of-the-art equipment available, including: podiums, overhead projectors, video screens, computers sound systems and notice boards. They also supply a transcription service, photocopying, hi-speed internet, hostesses, bi-lingual secretaries and will cater for coffee breaks, business meals and cocktails.
