Review Hotel Urban Madrid

The Hotel Urban Madrid |
The Hotel Urban Madrid is possibly the most modern and stylish hotel
in Madrid! It has an impressive reflective glass front; behind this
is the famous ‘Glass Bar’ where chairs, tables and all
fixtures and fittings are in glass. There’s a very smart doorman,
and the reception and lobby area will leave you gaping at the sleek
décor, complete with African sculptures. In 2006 it
was awarded the ‘Grand Luxe’ categorisation by Madrid’s
Autonomous Government General Board of Tourism. It’s the only
hotel in Madrid to achieve this in the last 27 years.
Glass elevators glide up to the 6th floor roof terrace and pool. The
décor throughout is either in blacks and gold’s or silver
and grey, and there are ethnic sculptures from Egypt strategically
placed in both public areas and in the rooms, which make up an impressive
art collection. I didn’t want to leave this luxury hotel, and
the only way to believe it is to experience it yourself.

| The Hotel Urban Madrid And The Modern Building Opposite |
The road that the Hotel Urban Madrid is on, is full of stately buildings.
The hotel is in the area of Madrid known as ‘Madrid of the Austrias’,
which is home to some of Madrid’s finest architecture. Plus,
you’re only 10 minutes walk from the Puerta del Sol in the centre
of Madrid. Here you’ll find lots of shops, bars, restaurants
and banks and excellent metro and bus links.
At the other end of the road, approximately 10 minutes walk is the
Prado museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum. Opposite the hotel
is a cash point, and 100 m to the left as you leave the hotel, you’ll
find the Plaza Canalejas. This is a Plaza surrounded by ornate buildings,
and there are a couple of terrace bar/restaurants. There’s also
a post box and a fresh juice bar.
The metro is 5 minutes walk away.
How To Get From The Airport To The Hotel
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport will be about 30 minutes to the
hotel, and cost 22 to 25 euros (airport supplement included), depending
on traffic, and assuming you haven’t got any excess baggage.
(Assuming that all baggage fits inside the boot and interior of the
taxi).
Via Metro: You can take various metro routes directly from the airport
to arrive at Sevilla metro near the Hotel Urban Madrid. Line number
8 leaves from inside the airport between terminals 1 and 2. I’ve
given the quickest route below with the stations where you need to
change listed:
Metro: Columbia (Pink
Line, L8) Then change and head for Principe
de Vergara (Purple Line, L9) Then change and head for Sevilla (Red
Line, L2).
Via Bus: The red EMT public bus from the airport goes to Avenida America.
The number bus that takes this route is the 115. From there it’s
quicker to change to the metro.
