There are many NH hotels in Madrid. To give you an idea of what to expect from them, we’ve reviewed one of the most central hotels. The NH Hotel Madrid Embajada is in an attractive cream-coloured building with a decorative façade. The street it’s on is wide and lined with trees and the whole area has a majestic feel. Inside you’ll find the hotel is simply decorated with large pictured dotted about on the walls. Overall there’s neat, no-fuss feel.
Hotel FacilitiesNH Hotel Madrid Embajada has excellent facilities including: a restaurant, cocktail bar, café bar, laundry service, cloakroom service, airport shuttle service, medical help on hand, babysitting and you can book car rental through reception. Dishes on the restaurant menu during my visit included: Vegetables, wild mushroom and Autumn fruit salad (8 euros) and Swordfish (12.50 euros). Business FacilitiesThe NH Hotel Madrid Embajada has 4 meeting rooms and the biggest can hold up to 50 people. The hotel can provide: overhead projector, screens, fax, microphone, flip chart, audiovisual equipment, hostesses, translation, computers, and will cater for working lunches, cocktail parties and coffee breaks. It’s just 1 minute walk to the metro from the hotel and there are excellent connections to all parts of Madrid. If you cross over the Alonso Martinez roundabout, in 10 minutes walk you’ll be in the district of Chueca, where all the gay, alternative and Bohemian shops and bars can be found. Heading straight down the hill on Calle Genova from the roundabout will take you past many bars and restaurants. There’s an American style diner, a place to get ribs, tapas bars, sandwich bars, cake shops and just about every type of food you can think of! On the same street as the hotel there’s a cash point and a pharmacy. The street is fairly peaceful and has some pleasant architecture. How To Get From The Airport To The HotelVia Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 20 minutes and cost around 19.50 euros (including airport supplement), if there isn’t too much traffic, and assuming there is no extra baggage (that all baggage fits inside the boot and interior of the taxi). Via
Via Bus: You can take a red EMT public bus from the airport to Avenida America. The number bus that takes this route is the 115. From there it’s quicker to change to the metro directly to Alonso Martinez (Brown Line, L4).
