You can be sure that you won’t miss out on seeing the most popular attractions, nor will you get lost. What’s more, we’ve compiled a guide for you so that you can find out here where to buy tickets for this city tour, how much they cost, and also, as we’ve travelled on the buses, we can tell you more about the routes that they take.

Madrid Tour Bus - Routes

Madrid City Centre Near Atocha Station
The bus passes the most majestic buildings. This area of the city is opposite Atocha station

There are 3 routes: Route 1 is Historical Madrid; Route 2 is Modern Madrid; and Route 3 is Monumental Madrid. Routes 1 and 2 last 75 minutes and route 3 is for 40 minutes.

The 'Modern Madrid' route starts from the Paseo del Prado outside the Ritz hotel. The 'Historical Madrid' route starts from the Royal Theatre (Teatro Real) next to the Plaza Oriente. Both routes are circular and you can catch the bus from any stop on the route.

The great thing is though, that you can hop on and off the bus whenever you like. There’ll be another one along every 20 minutes, and you can get back onto any bus you like, from any route. This is a fantastic way to jump off and see a few sites before getting back on and travelling to the next location.

Whilst you’re on the bus, headphones are provided for you to listen to an audio guide that tells you all about the important buildings, streets and other sites that you are seeing. The audio guide is available in several languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese and Russian.

tip Keep hold of the map you get with the ticket. It gives you discounts at many attractions.
