This page will help you find a youth hostel in Madrid. You can see a list of hostels and details about where they are, and how to contact them. A youth hostel is a place that usually attracts backpackers, or people on a budget. You can also read here about the association that lists all youth hostels in Madrid. You will also find a link to a page listing hostels outside of Madrid centre.
The governing body for youth hostels is the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF). Hostels that are registered with this organisation have agreed to abide by certain standards, such as fresh linen, cleanliness and security and so on. Hostels that are not part of the IYHF are independent, but usually also stick the same standards, and may have more flexible rules regarding curfews.
In Spain, the IYHF is represented by the Youth hostels Network - REAJ,
