Review: Gran Atlanta Hotel Madrid

Page Content

Gran Atlanta Hotel Madrid
When you enter the Gran Atlanta Hotel Madrid you'll find it spacious and welcoming. There's an old fashioned feel due to the chandeliers, dark wood walls and richly patterned rugs. One unusual feature is a waterfall that glides down the surface of a large mirror and makes a relaxing sound.

The hotel is in Madrid's financial zone and so is ideally placed for quick access to several major companies.

The Gran Atlanta Hotel Madrid is in the zone known as AZCA, which is Madrid's business and financial district. There are many large companies nearby, and the main road of Castellana is within 10 minutes walk. Here also, you'll come across many of Madrid's largest companies.

Opposite the hotel there are two cafes and a restaurant. If you turn left out of reception and walk for 2 minutes, there's a small grocers store on the opposite side of the road. There are also 3 estate agents within 1 minute's walk of the hotel.

How to get to your hotel from Madrid-Barajas Airport

Booking your airport transport in advance online

Booking your airport transport online in advance of your trip enables you to travel from Madrid-Barajas airport directly to the door of your hotel.

The online booked transfers listed below are not public transport operated services - which means they continue to run even if there is a public transport strike.

If you don't speak Spanish, and you are unfamiliar with Madrid, arranging your transport in advance will give you peace of mind and save you the trouble of working out the route yourself. You can either book a private transfer or a shared transfer.

Private transfer (online booking only)

A private transfer means that the vehicle that you have will be dedicated for you and your party only. The driver will be waiting for you at your arrivals gate with a sign with your name on it. Your driver will assist you with your luggage and take you to a private air conditioned vehicle to take you directly to your hotel. We have provided a booking link below.

Minibus transfer (online booking only)

A minibus option is cheaper than the private transfer and the vehicle is shared amongst other travellers. Unlike a private transfer the driver will not be waiting for you at the arrivals gate you would need to make your way to a meeting point.

Follow the link below to book either your private transfer or minibus transfer online.

Public transport options

Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 20 minutes and cost  €22.00 - €30.00  (including airport supplement), depending on traffic conditions and assuming there is no excess baggage (that all baggage fits inside the boot and interior of the taxi).

Via metroMetro: You can take various metro routes directly from the airport to arrive at Alvarado metro near the Gran Atlanta Hotel Madrid. Line number 8 leaves from inside the airport between terminals 1 and 2. I've given the quickest route below with the stations where you need to change listed:

metroMetro: Colombia (Pink Line, L8) Then change and head for Plaza de Castilla (Purple Line, L9) Then change and head for Alvarado (Light Blue Line, L1).

Via Bus: There isn't a public bus that goes directly from the airport to the area where the hotel is situated.
