Glass elevators glide up to the 6th floor roof terrace and pool. The décor throughout is either in blacks and gold's or silver and grey, and there are ethnic sculptures from Egypt strategically placed in both public areas and in the rooms, which make up an impressive art collection. I didn't want to leave this luxury hotel, and the only way to believe it is to experience it yourself.
The Hotel Urban Madrid has the incredible Glass bar on the right as you enter. The fixtures are glass (or appear to be). It is one of the most stylish bars in Madrid. There is also a restaurant to the left, and another bar. Their restaurant serves top cuisine including lobster and caviar. There's an excellent selection of pasta, vegetable, fish and meat dishes too.
The most unique feature of the Hotel Urban Madrid is its roof-top pool, bar, restaurant and terrace. The bar is open in the evenings so you can sip your drinks under the stars. The design is modern, and the music is to match with 'Chill-out' tunes. The view from here is across the ornate rooftops of this area of Madrid.
Other facilities include wi-fi in public areas, lifts, luggage store, cradle on request, laundry service, parking in the hotels private garage, wake-up service, ironing service, ancient art collection, Egyptian art collection, wine cellar salon, a total of 3 restaurants, cocktail bar, swimming pool and solarium, sauna and gym and small dogs are allowed.
There are rooms that are especially adapted for disabled access and use, with wider baths and lower surfaces.
Business clients of the hotel Urban Madrid are well catered for, as there are 4 meeting rooms that can be either sub-divided or combined, allowing for a capacity of up to 200 people. The rooms are modern and light.
The Hotel Urban Madrid has 96 rooms including 85 doubles, 4 singles, 3 junior suites and 4 suites. Each room is decorated in its own unique style and has Egyptian and other ethnic sculptures. The style is Art Deco and modern. The external rooms have views onto the road San Jeronimo that contains some impressive buildings.
The rooms include a safe that you can keep a laptop in, minibar, sound-proofing, 24 hour room service, individual AC and CH, direct-dial telephone, modem/fax connection, wi-fi, parquet flooring, hair dryer, interactive TV (film, pay-TV, internet, games).
The road that the Hotel Urban Madrid is on, is full of stately buildings. The hotel is in the area of Madrid known as 'Madrid of the Austrias', which is home to some of Madrid's finest architecture. Plus, you're only 10 minutes walk from the Puerta del Sol in the centre of Madrid. Here you'll find lots of shops, bars, restaurants and banks and excellent metro and bus links.
At the other end of the road, approximately 10 minutes walk is the Prado museum and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum. Opposite the hotel is a cash point, and 100 m to the left as you leave the hotel, you'll find the Plaza Canalejas. This is a Plaza surrounded by ornate buildings, and there are a couple of terrace bar/restaurants. There's also a post box and a fresh juice bar.
The metro is 5 minutes walk away.
Booking your airport transport online in advance of your trip enables you to travel from Madrid-Barajas airport directly to the door of your hotel.
The online booked transfers listed below are not public transport operated services - which means they continue to run even if there is a public transport strike.
If you don't speak Spanish, and you are unfamiliar with Madrid, arranging your transport in advance will give you peace of mind and save you the trouble of working out the route yourself. You can either book a private transfer or a shared transfer.
Private transfer (online booking only)
A private transfer means that the vehicle that you have will be dedicated for you and your party only. The driver will be waiting for you at your arrivals gate with a sign with your name on it. Your driver will assist you with your luggage and take you to a private air conditioned vehicle to take you directly to your hotel. We have provided a booking link below.
Minibus transfer (online booking only)
A minibus option is cheaper than the private transfer and the vehicle is shared amongst other travellers. Unlike a private transfer the driver will not be waiting for you at the arrivals gate you would need to make your way to a meeting point.
Follow the link below to book either your private transfer or minibus transfer online.
