The hotel has a businesslike air to it, although I noticed a balance of business and pleasure travellers. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area, and there were several tourist information leaflets available in reception.

The Novotel Hotel Madrid offers car rental, laundry service, room service until 02:00, and it has a disco, café, restaurant and bar. The hotel has its own shopping centre. There's no need to leave the premises. But if you do want to venture out, they also have a pre-bookable limousine service.

Hotel Location And Facilities

The metro is 5 minutes walk away. You're near to the well-known street of Goya. Here you'll find banks, bars and cafes with terraces and lots of clothes and shoe shops. This district is known as Salamanca and is famed for its collection of exclusive boutiques.
If you continue along O'Donnell street for 10 minutes you'll reach Retiro Park, which is a place to go and relax either under a tree or in one of the numerous café bars.
If you are arriving by car, you'll find the hotel easily as it is only a few minutes away from the M30 ring-road.

Public transport options
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport will be about 20 minutes depending on traffic volume. The following price includes airport supplement and is valid assuming there is no excess baggage (that all baggage fits inside the boot and interior of the taxi).

Via Metro: You can take various metro routes directly from the airport to arrive at O'Donnell metro, near the Novotel Hotel Madrid. Line number 8 leaves from inside the airport between terminals 1 and 2. The quickest route is given below with the stations where you need to change listed:
Metro: Nuevos Ministerios (Pink Line, L8) Then change and head for O'Donnell (Grey Line, Circular, L6).
Via Bus: You can take a red EMT public bus from the airport to Avenida America. The number bus that takes this route is the 115. From there it's faster and easier to change to the metro.
